La muestra de esta investigación incluyó 6.070 participantes de 111 colegios. Los principales hallazgos revelan que la mayoría de las y los jóvenes se conectan a internet desde sus hogares, utilizando principalmente teléfonos inteligentes; pasan un promedio de 10 horas diarias en línea, de las cuales dedican la mayor parte a redes sociales y plataformas de streaming, y tienen una alta tolerancia y flexibilidad a los riesgos en línea. Hay, además, una baja comprensión de conceptos como identidad en línea y huella digital, especialmente entre los más jóvenes. Estas brechas en el conocimiento destacan la necesidad de fortalecer la alfabetización mediática, digital e informacional, para promover habilidades que respondan a las necesidades de la ciudadanía digital del siglo XXI.
